Gloria is my oldest oc - originally based off a peophin from neopets, adapted to a human persona, who eventually became entirely her own person and has been an immense comfort to me over the years. ^^ As she currently exists, she is one of two main characters in a story of mine called "The Golden Goby;" a little narrative world I've created to house the many adoptable characters I've accumulated during my time in artist spaces across the internet.

"On an earth home to many kinds of mutants (called “Angels,”) Gloria is trying to find her way as the daughter of a human and a merman. She goes to great lengths to hide her scales and fins and leads a lonely life to that end, doing her best to blend in with other humans. Until one day, she encounters a secret society of sorts, a group of Angels like her that hang out at a mysterious local inn known as “The Golden Goby.” Stumbling into the events at TGG by chance one day and meeting Amos makes her realize that this might be a place where she doesn't have to keep hiding."

• Gloria has scales and fins on her shoulders, running down her back, and covering her feet. She can be fully "human passing" with the right clothes, but compressing her fins is never comfortable.
• Gloria lives with her single mother, and helps out around the small sandwich shop that keeps them both going. Before finding TGG, sometimes the most social interaction Gloria might get in a week was a long conversation with a regular at the shop.
• Finding TGG does more than just bring community into Gloria's life; she also learns a lot about herself and how to embrace it. She uncovers a sharp wit, an interest in niche personal style, and a love for amateur photography.
