DYOS 10.5: Plans Within Plans

Problem, Tanaka?
Problem, Tanaka? by @Thorvald (El Thorvaldo)

My 14th submission to DYOS X.ii. [link]

One day at work the idea came to me, and when it looked like choxorn wasn't gonna get a leg up I acted on it. It was also partly a bid to freshen up the Cool Face, which was already on the fast track to the Meme Dump.

Tanaka's name is never actually stated in any of my comics; his surname was taken directly from the model filename, which was part of a third-party roleplay pack (either Get a Life or Dystopia; I can't remember which). His quip in Panel 8 is a jab at CivGeneral's penchant for natural 20s on Charisma checks; ironically, @GenMarshall adopted the line himself in a later comic completely straight-faced.

I really like writing for choxorn. Amid my grand plans and labyrinthine conspiracies, it's quite liberating to have a character that just wants to cut the crap and bring it all back down to earth. His style of irreverence is something I deeply cherish, and have taken great pains to preserve in the climate of Part II. Welcome to DYOS, where a bubblehead zombie is the straight man to everyone.
