25 years - Cat Mage by @ajfox (A Girtz)
The saga continues, this time in color. Now that a rather persistent & annoying, head cold has come and gone, I can return to working toward completion of this neat little series. It's been a lot of fun, but other ideas and challenges await. There's still plenty of year left to go, it's possible something else may get the 25 year treatment as well later on. 5 down, 1 to go.
1999: Low and behold, this new found style is slowly beginning to change. It doesn't matter if the drawing makes sense, just keep going. Version 1.0 is becoming 2.0. Some things are improving and some things still need a lot of work. Trying some color to see where I am in that aspect. Inking is (usually) no problem, but it's clear there are still some things lost in translation on the drawing front. The ride continues, life carries on as normal. College, friends, and a personal artistic renaissance in the waning months of the 90's. (and the end of the 20th century in general)
2024: 3 toes....Boy was I shooting from the hip on these. Just take what little knowledge I had to work with and make something with it. Everyone had their own templates to draw from. I remember Anime and Disney being two of the biggest sources among some of them. With this piece, I just couldn't re-create it beat for beat. There were many different ways I could have gone with this retread, but decided to go for something more dynamic. Time and practice provide really neat ways of doing things, and my mind's eye saw this and ran with it. A cat girl mage, currently with no name. Even back in 99', I wasn't quite sure what was going on with the spell she's casting. Let's call it a global map spell, which can double as a light in the dark in a pinch. When a name comes, I'll amend the description.
