Before the new 1968 globe debuted, Central had been testing colour broadcasting facilities. One of them was to colourize the existing stripy symbol, with a paler blue and yellow. The stripe would have looked blurry on colour sets, so they trashed it with a whole new design.

Created in 2022, first submitted on Side 7.
