Forever Frozen by @Lucky_Ladybug66 (Daisy Hunt)
... I think this looks really eerie, especially after I started coloring in the stone.
From my sequel to Twilight and Dawn, Sunrise and Midnight. Sephiroth, sane again and deeply regretting the heinous acts he committed, has been fighting alongside AVALANCHE and the Turks to defeat Jenova. She possesses a sorceress, and during a battle, uses her dark magic to encase Sephiroth in stone, effectively (they believe) killing him.
Cloud, surprisingly, takes it the hardest. He has been letting his hatred of Sephiroth twist and warp his heart and soul, and Sephiroth's death leaves him confused. He hates that he could not help the other, especially since he was watching it happen. He hates that he cares at all, and doesn't understand why he does. And, as Tifa surmises, he really hates himself more than he hates Sephiroth.
Cloud takes to going back to the hauntingly beautiful cave where it happened, brooding over his enemy's death and hoping to find the answers to his questions. Only Sephiroth can tell him, he feels. But Sephiroth will never speak again.
I wanted to capture pain, panic, shock, and desperation in Sephiroth's expression, as well as adding a blank, dead look. It took so many tries before I was satisfied. And his hands. . . . Oh man. I finally used my own hand for the left hand model, and the right hand of my Sephiroth figure for the right hand. (And I used the figure for the positioning of the arms.)
There is no background in the B&W version. But then I decided I wanted to contrast and accentuate Sephiroth's fate with the sparkling surroundings of the cave. It just didn't look right without it, once everything else was colored.
There are some differences between how I draw FF7 Seph and how I draw KH Seph. Naturally the most noticeable is that FF7 Seph does not have three blue wings. One thing he does have is a small tuft of hair on his forehead, as depicted in Advent Children. Speaking of AC designs, though, I forgot to do all those buckles and straps down his coat. Whoops.
