I've always loved how Soejima drew the Persona 3 protagonist for the title screens. The mouth shape especially always stuck with me as a super simple way to stylize mouths, so I wanted to try drawing my own take on it. Plus, my debut with digital art was Makoto Yuki, so it seemed right.
