Amethyst catching up on her reading during her lunch break. Her mother had a strong interest in non-traditional medicines so the young Amethyst wouldn't be affected by the high levels of bromine in her system. Along with a "plain, ol' country doctor" from a well-known TV show, this inspired her to go into the medical profession. Some days, she wonders if it was worth the bother, especially when she falls asleep in the middle of watching porn.
