After a week of housekeeping, TechTV came back on the air on 25 August, 2001. It was commonly acknowledged that the channel's first programme was to detail the editorial and workplace changes, but that honour actually belonged to a TechTV News update, broadcast a few hours prior. Techlive, their tech news/general chat show, went live later that night with much fanfare.

This was inspired by MocksTV, a fellow creator on DeviantArt that styles current events in retro TV aesthetic. This was done in response to Linus Tech Tips' follow-up video to their controversies last year, which set the events inside the late TechTV.
