Carlton News promo (moon landing special, 1969)
Carlton News promo (moon landing special, 1969) by @WestKnightTV (West Knight)

One thing Carlton shared with Rediffusion was their enthusiasm in creating dedicated graphics for specific programmes, and this was an example. Here, the circle was a simplified representation of the full moon, while the upwards-pointing line actually lined up with the 10-minute mark on the clock. The arched A in the titles unintentionally looked akin to the launching rocket as well.

Note the use of the "Carlton News" brand - Carlton wasn't that creative in naming their local news.
