NSK Fairytale Challenge 1
NSK Fairytale Challenge 1 by @Elleree (Elleree Phoenix)

Okay, so the NSK challenged us to draw our chars in a fairytale. I claimed the Thai fairytale caled "Ruang Koong Nai Prasop" (The Story of Nai Prasop) which is the story of this young monk who is told by a soothsayer he will marry the daughter of a slave. A girl has just been born to the family slave so he decides to drop a knife through the floorboards upstairs to kill the child and avoid his fate. He fails, suceeding in only scarring the girl deeply. The slave flees with her baby, fearing for her life, and the monk's family loses all its fortunes. He wanders the streets peniless for years until a kind woman takes him in. He falls in love with the daughter and marries her. The night of the wedding, he sees the scars and realizes his fate came true afterall.

I drew Saima in the position of the Slave woman's daughter and I love this pic since it shows her Thai heritage. I picked this tale because it's Thai, her hertiage, and also the scarring and the fact that the girl was a slave. Plus the girl has a hard life that gets easier when she's older, like Saima.

This picture is of my NPC character Mr. Tang (younger) as Nai Prasop about to try and kill the baby girl. I'm disappointed with the scan. cry
