Candle Calligraphy by @fragmented_imagination (B Sanders)
"Djinn smolder. Humans rot."
Another calligraphy piece, this time with one of the constructed languages I made. The language, Jezbud, is a language of the Afarit (a type of Djinn, if anyone is familiar with any character named Ifrit) and uses a modified form of the Arabic script. Since I had just done this piece, I thought I'd give it a shot with this, particularly since I'd been working on expanding the language lately. It was a little more difficult than I imagined, especially since the letters I was using don't exactly lend themselves to forming a candle in a candle holder.
The piece is supposed to reflect a sort of "we're different but also the same" mentality. In my story universe, when a Djinn dies, they decay by smoldering since they are made of fire. The idea is supposed to be "we burn away, Humans rot away, but we both still die and are therefore alike". I... might want to mention that I came up with this after midnight the previous night and tried a few sketches before I fell asleep, so it might not have been a fully-formed idea.
