Jesse by @wolvenillusion (Keri Stone)
This is a special picture, for once not a request, of a dog that we named Jesse. Not 'we' as in me and my family, but 'we' as in the dedicated volunteers and fosters at H.A.R.P.S.(Homeless Animal Rescue and Placement Services). Jesse was a husky/ Australian shepard mix, therefore he was born with no tail, bringing out the aussie in him. He was very intelligent, always doing quirky little tricks and such. Needless to say, I wanted to adopt him. That dog had a very different, but special aura about him, as if he'd been sent by God. My parents kept refusing saying that "two animals are enough."
Before he came to us, a good samaritan family had rescued him and rehabilitated him after he'd been left, tied to a tree, with no food and no water. He was there like that for many nights before his saviors came upon him. Just thinking about that now makes me hate people for what they do to animals. People make me sick.
After being with us for almost a month, Jesse dissapeared. First he didn't come back one week, then another, then even more. Harps colunteers called the fosters, but not once did anyone answer, we e-maild, we drove by, everything, but jesse never came back since that september day. so I drew this. NO one knows where he is now or if he's okay but this is in his memory here. The lyrics to teh song are from metallica's "the unforgiven". They fit well and yes, are supposed to be faded looking.
I'll post his actual picture after this one so you can compare them. Artwork © Copyright 2003 Keri Stone
