CLT unleashed their new ident package on New Year 1996. As live footage splashes on the screen, the CLT box slowly appeared, with the white box underneath 'engulfs' the moving action into a white void.

By now, Central in the Midlands had been acquired by Carlton, which originally also set their sights on CLT, but ITC blocked them for potentially monopolizing the London C3 service. It was bought out by Granada instead.
