Anarcho-Syndicalist USA Flag by @Thorvald (El Thorvaldo)
This is an SVG remake of a design submitted to DeviantArt by the now-defunct user Leisure-Pirate, with minor modifications. The original image was a JPEG with horrendous compression, and I saw reconstructing it for the IOT Wiki as a fun test of the skills I'd learned thus far. Despite having used the original for her country in Rise of the American Empire, Omega124 literally couldn't comprehend why I bothered cleaning it up. :p
The American Federation of Syndicates was a country situated in the US Rust Belt, loosely modeled after the Combined Syndicates of America from Kaiserreich. Nominal leader of the continental Internationale alliance, it was the nemesis of christos200's ancap "American Republic" (Utah), although the two countries never came to blows. The AFS was a staunch opponent of Ailedhoo's Divine Mandate of Tlamihua (the Iccans), an intolerant evangelical cult that attempted to expand into the northeast seaboard, far beyond its sphere of influence in southern Texas; the Federation was betrayed in the "Sable Island Dispute"by the very faction it had been supporting, leading to a short war with New York, the Meiguo Republic, and the surviving Washington government, ironically receiving Sable once the Iccans abandoned the area. Subsequent revelations that the Iccans ritually murdered clerics of rival faiths prompted the Internationale to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against the cult; when Tlamihua was invaded by two regional alliances over seditious activity in Utah, the AFS declared it would invade the Iccans' last bastion in Cyprus, constructing game's largest known navy for this end. Once again throwing unanimous player sentiment under the steamroller, the game moderator Taniciusfox responded with nearly every Old World NPC (led by Israel!!!) pledging defence to the fugitive cult. Megs quietly quit the game in protest of GM powergaming.
