Still recovering from the dragon's attack. The bandages are off of his wings and his chest, but his side hasn't healed yet, and for both that reason and because of his lower right wing throwing him off-balance, he's still using the cane.

He is supposed to be looking at Cloud. There wasn't enough room to draw him in.
